I am sorry I haven’t written much in these last few days but as I have mentioned before, (forgive me if I am repeating myself) I write my diary principally for the benefit of my bearded one who is actually quite old and his memory is not what it used to be. He needs me to record what he does, when he does it, why he does it and where he is etc, particularly related to his operating of my long kennel (aka Albert) on our travels, he needs to know for the record where we go, what we see and why, where we visit etc. Well, in this regard, we have been nowhere, done diddlysquat and seen or smelt nothing new. Hence the sparsity of record.
We have however, all been living in my long kennel, very comfy and happy for a few days now but have not moved away from my Marina and so there is nowhere new to talk about. I have enjoyed myself particularly getting lovely regular walks when it is not raining too hard and chasing ducks and those honking geese and of course doing some sleeping, one of my favourite things. My bearded one and my long haired one on the other hand have been very busy doing jobs to keep my kennel looking nice and enjoying the new stove that was installed over the winter, it keeps us snug. My long haired one’s sister Maureen and husband David came to visit me yesterday. We may go out for a little cruise soon if it is not too cold or wet.
I told you it was my birthday nearly a week ago on my last diary entry, I am getting to pensioner age now, and I mentioned there was a remarkable absence of presents? Well, guess what? They bought me a bath robe! It arrived today, see photo. I like it and think it suits me, I like the colour too. Please tell me if you think if I look O.K. In it? Does my bum look too big? Does it make me look fat? Does the colour blue go with my brown eyes? I find it quite comfortable. I only get to wear it after I have a bath (about four times a year) but more often, and I think this is the reason they gave it to me, if I get wet playing in the long grass or walking in the rain, which happens most days at this time of the year, it is made of towelling. I think they bought it for me to stop me making a mess inside my long kennel – the part they live in – when I (used to) shake the water off. This is a very clever nay remarkable facility that I and my kind have and can do so well and so rapidly, humans can’t do it – spraying the environment with mud and water. For reasons I do not understand, they don’t much like me doing this.
Yesterday we went shopping in a huge shopping centre in Tamworth and they bought me 48 tins of Chappie (on special offer, whatever that means) and themselves, a new microwave oven for my galley and a new lamp shade (at long last) for their dining room and a new vacuum cleaner (cordless and re-chargeable) as a present for my long haired one, and it is not even her birthday.
