Well, it is just as I thought. I am on one of those adventures! Yesterday I saw all sorts of boxes and bags and stuff being loaded into my short mobile kennel (aka Yeti) and this morning, after  a rather longer than usual walk,  I caught them putting my bed onto the back seat of my short kennel and then I was bundled in too, this was followed by them. They were in the front seats and I spent the rest of the day being gently rocked to sleep in the back all to myself. I know this is called travelling and I quite enjoy it but  I rather wish they wouldn’t wake me every two hours or so for a march around a boring petrol station, strangely not the same one but a different one each time. I know what they wanted me to do and so I did as often as I could.

After quite a long day we arrived at a hotel, if you have never stayed in one of these, it is like a very big house where lots of people live. My grown-ups took me and my overnight bag and bed into this big house and much to my surprise, into a very very small room, I was so disappointed (see photo) I thought this won’t do, hardly enough room for us to stand, let alone lie  down but, just as we got in settled and the door closed, it opened again and we were in a completely different place – amazing. Then we went into a much larger nice room and this was where we were going to sleep and I had my supper.

I was also allowed to join them for their supper which is nice, under their table of course and I think this is why they like this big house, they like me to be with them and it is called The Montermoso Hotel, it is in a place called Arunda de Duera. We are, I am told,  a bit more than seven hours drive time from home, an hour north of Madrid and a bit less than three hours away from Santander where I think we are all going to get on to a huge kennel tomorrow for a day and a night For a short sea voyage.

My photos today is me disappointed at the very small room and on the very large staircase in this big house – a bit OTT –

I thought I was at the Oscars!

Love Douglas xx

    Hello Douglas –
I suppose it is nice to hear from you (or should that be ‘mice’?). I hadn’t realised you were on your travels again. Am I going to see you? I’ll get my claws sharpened if so.
Eastbourne is a bit warmer, thank goodness. I didn’t go outside much last week it was so cold.
    Love & scratches

As always Douglas, you bring a smile to my face and a big chuckle from my tummy. What a lovely start to your holiday diary. We can’t wait to see you all on 27th in Liverpool, hope that you like the kennel we have planned for you there!!
