Journey part three
My pets mouthed adios (I think) to the policemen with a cheery wave clutching the penalty notice tightly and I kept my head down as they drive slowly away. Then within minutes another strange happening, we were waved down by another pair of policemen with even bigger guns, standing one each side of the road, armed and looking menacing. We stopped. “Why are you driving so slowly?” They said in northern Spanish leaning into the window which my bearded one had opened. We did our best to explain but at this point the two original policemen arrived (a different police force) and there followed a discussion and we were released and on our way, much relieved to be away from this rather strange and slightly aggressive behaviour.
Montermosa, by contrast, was most welcoming and, very dog-friendly we settled in and all three of us went to the bar/restaurant, they had a bottle of wine, I had a bowl of water. This was followed by a lovely supper for them with some Scottish friends who were also staying with one of my kind from the Tibetan Terrier tribe, he was hairy and black and white, rather like me but smaller.
We went to bed and I will tell you more tomorrow
Love Douglas
What did you get done for, speeding?
