Journey – Santander part one
We had a leisurely start for the three-hour journey to the Port at Santander where we are to board the huge kennel but not until the evening. After the normal breakfast of dry biscuits for me and coffee and croissant ( whatever that is) for them, we were on our way again without incident and, we had the whole sunshine. day ahead of us to explore.
About 20 km to the west of Santander there is a magical place called Liencres. This is where we were headed, I have visited here before in the winter and I love it. There are sand dunes bordering pine tree woods and wild desolate beaches of white powdery sand with a beautiful turquoise sea and rolling surf. See my photo today.
I took my pets walking for miles. We spent a long time on the beach and I met a friend and his male pet was throwing sticks into the sea for him to fetch, I joined in and he and I competed with this game of stick recovery. The male humans seemed to enjoy the game too. I actually swam on a brief occasion by mistake but I enjoyed it all.
We are leaving shortly to catch the ferry or the huge kennel which sails tonight at 20:30 I will report tomorrow
