I am dog tired – we did the Bosley flight this morning it took just two and a half hours. We moved our two long kennels up 12 locks which amounted to something like 30 tons combined weight climbing over 100 feet up a hill. I find it quite amazing how the engineering that was put in place over 2000 dog years ago has worked so simply and effectively ever since. Of course I directed operations rather than actually doing the paws on work, I left that to the humans. They are also very tired I suppose they call this human tired.
They were disappointed when we got to the top of the flight to find that the services we were expecting and required (laundry) was not available to us at weekends. Perhaps we will find what we want in Macclesfield.
We moored on the outskirts of Macclesfield. In the early afternoon for a rest. I suspect there might be a bit of exploration to do later or perhaps tomorrow when the forecast is rain.
I know that tonight we are having Barbie and Mike from Mickey Jay to supper. My long haired one is busy in the galley (that’s what they call kitchens in long kennels). As I write this, my bearded one is opening a gin bottle.
My photos today, taken by Barbie are of my long haired one with me directing locking operations and the other one is of me looking – important.
