We are not moving my long kennel today. It is early morning, it is raining, hail and thunder and high gusty and cool winds are on the menu according to the happy weather forecast lady on TV. – perfect!
As it happens we had not intended to move today anyway which is a bonus. We are expecting some old friends to join us for lunch at The Navigation.
Our walk this morning was put on hold by my bearded one and he lit our fire. As soon as this was going nicely the sun came out. I took him for his walk and the silly fellow slipped and fell in the mud. This did not please my long haired one as it was his last pair of trousers and of course we have no washing facility on board at the moment.
Remarkably the sun stayed out most of the day in defiance of the channel four weather lady. At noon by arrangement we met up with some old friends -Roger and Linda Sharp who came to see us from Derby. They had not seen each other since before I was born over seventy dog years ago and it was lovely for them to catch up over a fish and chip lunch and several pints of John Taylor. I sat on the floor under the table as I am required to do. It was particularly interesting for them to chat as they used to live in this area and they operated a Canal boat business. The Navigation, was where we had lunch and interestingly, Elsie Tanner (Coronation Street for those of a certain age) used to be the landlady.
I have taken a selfie for today’s picture. I hope you like it. I do need a hair cut.
