We very often stay in this hotel Ciudad de Burgos on our journeys to and from England. It fits well for an evening ferry arrival or indeed a morning departure as the town of Burgos is only a couple of hours from the Ports of Santander and Bilbao. Most important though is, it has lovely grounds to play in and it is very dog friendly.
That is what we did first thing, it was a lovely sunny morning and my bearded one and I played in the gardens, he kicked the ball, I fetched it x 15.
After this I went to lie down in my short kennel while they had a quick coffee and croissant. My long haired one took control of my short kennel for the first leg of our journey south on our way to Madrid.
After a short pit stop, my bearded one took over the drive through Madrid and after a further lunch stop beyond to Bailen our destination today, the Salvador Hotel, (see photo) we have stayed here before too it is a friendly motel and it is only a little more than a couple of hours from home, it too is very dog friendly and has lots of play area.
We arrived at about tea time with very many humans enjoying the tail end of a festival celebrating “Batalla de Baylen” which was a bloody battle between the French and Spanish circa 1808.
We sat amongst a few late revellers having a cold beer in the warm sunshine.
Love Douglas x
