Douglas Diary Summer Holidays 2018
Conservative Conference Birmingham ICC
I was very good last night, I looked after our kennel and what did they come back with? Diddly Squat! Actually, I wasn’t feeling that great but they didn’t know that I had eaten something somewhere, sometime earlier that hadn’t agreed with me. It happens quite often. I was sick sometime last night but I am fine this morning!
It was a lovely morning again thank fully and I got my bearded one up for his walk with the tongue in the ear routine and off we went to explore this downtown Birmingham. Well this is exciting stuff, jolly policemen everywhere but interestingly no grass could we find which as my reader will know causes me some concern especially first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Being a very regular guy. Anyway, my bearded one and I walked around and around the buildings several times but could find nothing remotely verdant. My bearded one kindly stopped and asked one of the nice policemen and the dialogue went as follows.
Bearded one ”Excuse me officer, please, do you know where there is any grass?” Police Officer replies “Do you want to smoke it or mow it?” Bearded one pointing at me “no neither, we want to shit on it”
After a successful visit to a nearby car park to which we had been directed and where there was some necessary green stuff, we passed the same police officer with his mate who kindly enquired as to my well being.
Police officer “Success?” Bearded one answers “Great thanks,” adding “I would give it a ten” as he gave a thumbs up, I simultaneously barked!
Max and Diane went to explore and my long haired one went to shop as my bearded one and I took my kennel around the corner to fill up with water. We intend to start our homeward journey today at lunch time, another 24 locks descending is our first challenge. We are doing a circular route back to King’s Bromley, this will take us about four days.
Before we were allowed to leave on our way we had another visit from the sniffer dog and his handler. See my photo for today.

Great diaries this week Douglas, love your adventures. Always enjoy a bit of political intrigue. Glad you are moving back up north, its safer there, but according to the telly the drug barons are moving into the rural areas so beware!
Great story, Douglas. Hope you find some grass today!
