Bulletin # 2
Andrew here with a short update.
Thank you to everyone who have sent their good wishes please excuse this method of communication but it seems the simplest way
This morning, Jan with the help of two strapping physiotherapists was helped from her bed and was aided to stand and to sit on a chair, this, not 24 hours from leaving the operating theatre. One small step for Jan ,,,,,one giant leap!
She continues to be in good spirit as we can expect from her. It is believed that she will be encouraged to continue mobility of this sort from now on and will likely leave her hospital bed in a few days. She could be walking with aid soon and this event will come in a later bulletin.
Clearly she will not be able to make our proposed return to Spain in a week’s time. Friends and family have rallied around and we have devised a plan. Jan will be staying with her sister for a short period of recovery. Douglas and I with my son as a co driver will return to Spain as planned. This is necessary to complete commitments in October. I will fly back and collect her when the doctors give her the O.K. To fly.
Emails and messages of best wishes are pouring in thank you to you all I will try and reply to each.
Best wishes
Andrew
Our Capt. had just gone to bed on sunday night (we know sundays cos our hunting bretheren come to the mountain) and suddenly he is all alarmed and muttering something about BREKHIP which we have heard lots about but now we realise that it is about your long haired one and we are very concerned….but we gather the right things have been done so that is a relief. Give her our best licks if you are allowed to visit !!!!!!
So very sorry to hear of Jan’s accident. What a thing, I have every sympathy for her, hip-wise, but it sounds as though she will be back to normal very soon – I do hope so. Please send her our best wishes and love. M&T
