Douglas Diary Autumn Hols
Part 8 – Hollybush to Etruria,
It was a really early start this morning 07:00 and I was woken by my bearded one from a lovely slumber. The sun was shining which was a bonus since the forecast was heavy rain first thing. We were moored in the middle of nowhere due to the drama of yesterday which will unfold next..
The drama of abandoning my long kennel in the middle of nowhere.
It was early evening and we were on our way homeward bound after a lovely day as described yesterday when my bearded one announced that he was without his wallet, it was lost! Panic and a disaster of unfathomable proportion!
A phone call to the Black Lion revealed that it was in safe custody (found on the floor by a cleaner). Jason, the amazing landlord of 11 years tenure – left his pub and drove in his car probably half an hour to reach us to return the wallet intact. We, my bearded and long haired pets and I walked back along the tow path to an agreed meeting point called The Hollybush Pub to meet the amazing Jason. Landlord of the year!
Drama over it was now dark. Hence my long kennel moved no further last night and hence our early start today. We have plans to return to Etruria as our crew (rellies) are leaving us tomorrow. It is from here that we started our adventures on the Caldon Canal and where we have finished this part of our Autumn Hols.

My photo today is of The Black Lion at Consall Forge, a must visit to a really great dog friendly, good food pub with an amazing landlord Jason. We previously visited him in August 2017

Well done Jason. Phew! Xx
What a potential disaster but thank the good Lord for Jason, what a star and all ended happily. We were very envious of you chugging off on that steam train, we have such happy memories. I seem to remember you having fun with chickens there or maybe it was another of your furry friends. Love to all, missing you xxxxx
