Day 43 King’s Bromley.
I am fine, thank you to all of you that have written with concern and get well messages after my accident. I am suffering no ill effects, I was very very lucky.
Just to round off yesterday the 13th of September, i am not superstitious, my owners, clearly concerned for my state of health took a gentle walked with me around the Marina. It was a lovely evening and there are lots of lovely walks here as some of you know. Rounding a bend, there was a big white cat sitting in the middle of one of my favourite picnic areas. Naturally, I barked at it, this is what I am meant to do, it did not flinch and so I barked again, still no response, I pranced around it and tried again, ignoring my owners’ cautionary remarks, whereupon the cat, much to my surprise, decided to respond in a very speedy and aggressive fashion. I took off like “the bolt” with the cat hanging on my tail. Clearly forgetting about any aches and pains. The next moment, the cat was safely up a tree I cannot climb trees and so I was up to my neck in the water! Newton’s first law of motion applied. I managed to climb out through the reeds, I hate the water. Ugh!
This demonstration of my agility, confirmed that my earlier accident had caused me no damage. I was however exceedingly embarrassed that I should get wet like this twice in the same day and it was all that cat’s fault! I did get another rub down and I slept for 13 hours.
My bearded one woke me up for his walk this morning and although he did not show his whiskery face, I gave the cat’s home kennel a wide berth.
The weather was dry and cool this morning and so my bearded one was busy doing some painting of my long kennel, touching up bits here and there and doing things to my engine under my bedroom, I know he got quite mucky.
My long haired one has been busy doing great quantities of washing and stuff and packing things away. All this I suppose preparing my kennel for the winter I have been doing some more sleeping keeping out of the way under the dining room table.
They are going out for dinner tonight to The Boars Head, I know this is one of their favourite places. They have dinner with Mr Carvery and it is 2 for 6 pounds whatever that means! They are going to be joined by John who visited them yesterday when I had my accident. I am quite happy to guard the kennel or even the car as we have that back now. It is to be the car tonight I have just learned.
My photos today are: an antique tug used as decoration on our marina, me on guard on my long kennel tour home mooring?
