Douglas Diary Friday 9th October 2015
We feel very lucky with the weather. Today we woke to blue skies yet again and although it was a little cool to start with it warmed up quickly and we had a glorious three hour run into Nantwich. I took up position in my usual spot on the aft deck directing operations. When we arrived we entered Nantwich Marina my bearded one skilfully manoeuvring in a very crowded space to position my long kennel for refuelling we also filled with water and of course my long haired one was busy preparing and cleaning my kennel for our friends arrival.
When all was Bristol fashion whatever that means, we left the Marina and found an agreed spot to wait for our friends Bob and Sheila whom we were expecting to arrive at about 2:00 pm. This was nearly two hours away and so I took my owners into town for a long walk as a provisioning exercise at Morrisons. The bearded one and I stayed outside and when my long haired one eventually emerged it was quite clear that we were not going to be able to walk and carry all the stuff back to my long kennel. They called a taxi! When the driver eventually arrived he seemed rather put out that I was expecting to accompany my owners! Well, I ask you…. Anyway, with a degree of indignation I sat in his boot with the shopping. In the event, Bob and Sheila arrived at my long kennel just after we did and we set off to Audlem our destination for tonight. Love Douglas
