Day 1 – Kings Bromley to Hopwas.
I was very relieved we did not have to move my long kennel yesterday. It rained all day and all night too. In the evening we collected our friends Olaf and Jette in my short kennel from East Midlands. My bearded one’s son James has a farm house near the end of the runway and we had supper with him so we were close by for the collection. We arrived safely back at Kings Bromley quite late and we closed down and slept soundly.
This morning I woke him up at 06:30 because frankly I had a very boring day yesterday mostly sleeping. I was bounding with energy I think possibly because of the steroids my nice vet Gemma has given me to stop me scratching. Anyway I dragged both my bearded one and Olaf around the marina in the early dawn and it was beautiful.
After a hearty breakfast we weighed anchor to start our journey, we turned right out of the Marina heading south and east down the Trent and Mersey and then onto the Birmingham and Fazeley canal at Fradley Junction.
Nothing of great moment to report happened, it was a very pleasant and gentle cruise for about five hours in lovely weather, I walked a lot and helped with a couple of locks. We arrived at The Tame Otter (see picture) in a small village called Hopwas where they had supper and they had some beer. I got water.
Douglas – I think the beer they drink is just water with some gravy browning in. I’d give it a miss!
Now thee’s two of us again we are going to new kennels in September – when our owners are off to somewhere called Spain for 10 days!
They say they hope to see you then – if you are back?? They go from the 12th to the 22nd.
Love Lila and Wybrow x
You tell your owners that they have got it wrong yet again! I don’t bring my owners back to Spain until 24fh! We are traveling on the Oxford for the next two or three weeks if you are passing love to meet you Wybrow.
