Douglas Diary Friday May 6th (Day 17)
Hopefully this is another lovely day, the forecast is good for the weekend which is as well since we have arriving today my bearded one’s son, wife, two children and two of my kind from the Labrador tribe. (they are only young so I may need to teach them a few things). They are all with us sharing my long kennel for 2 nights and two days. This will be fun they arrive this evening. Our plan is to return to the Poachers Pocket where we stayed on the way up. They can leave their short kennel there. We will then turn around and do the exciting bit at least to Trevor and back to show them as described previously all over again. We have just heard that they are unlikely to arrive before 22:30 as they are nearly 5 hours away with traffic. We are safely moored at The Poachers and so my long haired one thought it a good idea to go and visit Chirk Castle. I was all for that. In the event we had a lovely walk for hours but never actually reached the castle. My bearded one was exhausted and had a little rest in a cow field whilst I walked on with my long haired one but they didn’t make it either. Then some young cows attached themselves to my bearded (Dr Doolittle) one which removed any chance of sketching or painting. ‘So we all walked back to my long kennel and had a drink in the Poachers Pocket. My photo today is Chirk tunnel, very close to here 500 meters long, I have just checked to see if another kennel is coming.
