It was over a week ago now and I am sorry for the delay but hey ho, grateful thanks to EE, O2 and 3 all failed me. They, the bearded one and the long haired one bought me a new kennel! It is white and called a SkodaYeti, a strange name I thought for a mobile kennel.
To cut a long story short, I was a bit concerned when I first saw it. While they were busy loading the usual boxes into it. I was giving them the doleful eye and when I noticed a big jar of my biscuits being included it was then that I twigged that we were all – including me – off on another adventure.
To be honest, whilst my new mobile kennel was very comfy, I was quite bored on the first day, as we travelled north for about seven hours. Most of the time I just slept on the back seat listening to them, the bearded one and the long haired one harmonising rather tunelessly I thought as they sang along with the Ink Spots – would you believe that! I am very pleased with the audio system, and so are they – apparently!
Our journey took three sleeps. Our first was our usual stop which I like Aranda de Duera.
I was quite bored on the second day too, another seven hours dozing on the back seat. The second sleep was in France at Niorts. By the third day I knew all the words to all the songs. This day was slightly more interesting as for much of the day it was raining so hard and there were flashes of light and loud noises outside. I don’t think my bearded one was amused, he had to drive my kennel quite slowly at times. Then we went onto a train and under the channel. I looked out of the window but didn’t see any fishes. We spent that night at Rachel’s see next chapter.
Arrival Rachel’s House.
We arrived in Hawkhurst quite late on the third night. I was so excited to arrive at Rachel’s house but what a surprise awaited me. One of my kind, very young, very boisterous was living there and what is more he was ginger! He is from the Labrador tribe he proudly told me and his name is Basil. So what, I say, this is my family, my house, my garden, my playmates but I have to share I am told. Basil does not have such good manners as me, I suppose he is still learning and he eats his food so fast you wouldn’t believe. I think we are going to be good friends though. He is very pretty and very friendly. We play together. I have let him know who is the boss and laid out some of the ground rules! My Rachel has lots of visitors who make a fuss of him but he is only a baby really he tells me he is four months old I am five and a half years young!. I am a bit bigger and make sure I appear cute and still get lots of fuss.
We spent a lovely week with Rachel and her little humans, doing lots of walks and playing games, I loved the beach and all the rabbits and squirrels they have so many in their huge playground called Marlborough House School.
