Douglas diary 28th September 2015
I am sorry, it has been a while since I wrote in my diary which as you know I keep as a sort of record of my holidays when on my long kennel, as you know it is called Albert. Here I am now back and am just about to start (tomorrow morning) another adventure and so I hope I will be writing every day for about three weeks. We are going to cruise the four counties ring my bearded one tells me.
I have been very busy since we arrived in England about a week ago staying mostly with my cousin Basil, he is from the Labrador tribe and is ginger – poor chap. He belongs to my owners daughter’s family. Yesterday we arrived at my long kennel called Albert.
Today has been quite boring, although it is lovely weather and I managed to take them on a couple of walks but they have been very busy and not very communicative. They want my long kennel to look specially nice because we have some friends joining us in the morning. My long haired one has been working very hard inside cleaning and varnishing and my bearded one has been outside and has done a lot of touch up painting. I wasn’t allowed on board, slept in the sunshine mostly but did manage to get some paw prints on the Oxford blue stern before it had dried and I notice he got some paint on his shirt – we are both in trouble.
I was chased by a big white cat – this is not the way nature intended, but she (and it was a female 20 years old) was really very aggressive, I got away but only just escaped with my life. She lives on a long kennel moored near us. Love Douglas
