Douglas Diary Friday 11th April 2014 We had a lovely mooring for my long kennel on the River Seven at Worcester last night, it was was called a visitor mooring. We had to turn around and face up stream to be secure as the river was still running quite swiftly. We were just by the race course. I took my bearded one for his early morning walk and we went a total of fourteen furlongs! Seven out and seven back that is nearly two miles and it was lovely and I met lots of friends that I played with. I pretended that I was a race horse, I did a lot of running. I think my bearded one needed the exercise, standing on the back of my long kennel most of the day and anyway, today as we are moving down to Tewkesbury there will be little opportunity to get off. After breakfast we left beautiful Worcester and the sun was shining as we cruised towards Upton-on-Seven where we are to stop for lunch and a pee. Stopping at Upton was a bit of a problem as the visitor moorings there were completely full, there was an alternative at which and through superb boatmanship my bearded one and his friend managed to successfully moor. All the humans went straight to the Plough Inn overlooking our mooring and I sat under the table as usual. What a pretty place it is and when my long haired one settled down to draw an ancient Tudor house, to her amusement, she was all the while entertained by another artist who had a constant commentary, scarcely drawing breath. I took my other humans around the town. Then we left for our destination of Tewkesbury where we arrived at about tea time. Here my long kennel is going to stay for a while as we have to suspend our cruise. Tomorrow, my bearded one is going to fetch my short kennel in preparation for our journey to Hawkhurst.
