Day 9 Banbury to Aynho
It was a bright start but grey clouds were gathering. I took my bearded one for his walk quite early in the park adjacent to our mooring in Banbury town center as the rest of my family was getting up. Rain was forecast for 11:00 and so we decided to depart for our rendezvous at Aynho as soon as breakfast was over. The forecast was spot on. We had just a few locks to negotiate and the rain was only really drizzle, I didn’t mind that too much and enjoyed meeting new friends. There is a pub at Aynho called The Great Western Arms and this is our destination. I know this to be a dog friendly pub as last time I visited, about three years ago, as my devoted readers may recall, I was given a T bone steak by the nice lady owner!
Today we all went for lunch and I did get three doggy treats, I am not sure what they had as from my vantage point under the table, I could not see. After lunch we said good bye to Maureen and David who live quite close by near Oxford. The weather deteriorated it started raining quite hard and my “staff” decided we would stay put in Aynho as we had a good mooring outside the pub. I heard them planning the rest of our voyage and I think, as we are approaching half way they are going to start their return journey soon taking about two weeks. This will give them plenty of leisure time as there are places they want to explore more on the way back to Kings Bromley. My picture today shows the route I helped my bearded one plan when we started at the moment, we are a couple of days ahead of schedule. Love Douglas x
