Douglas Diary Wednesday 2nd April 2014 One of the great things about my long kennel, and there are many, is that my bedroom has under floor heating as it is over the engine room and it has its own porthole that I can look through. We were up quite early and after I had taken my bearded one for his walk, during which I managed to have a good run around with a member of the terrier tribe, we all got very busy preparing for the next leg of our journey. I don’t think they know where they are going, anyway they didn’t tell me. At our first lock around lunchtime, my long kennel came to a fairly abrupt stop but unfortunately the parsnip and curry soup cooking on the stove, did not! There was a bit of a clear up operation and It makes me feel good that I helped with the clear up operation. Otherwise, It was a lovely day with lots of interesting things to see. We stopped for a pic nic lunch – no soup – well they did before arriving at Shugborough Hall, this is where a Mr Lord Lichfield had his country seat! My two owners and their friend Barbie painted a picture sitting beside the River Trent while I wandered about investigating the wild life and I had a short argument with two swans. I let them win. The weather has been dull and I haven’t seen the sun for days. But, I am having a lovely time. Sent from my IPad x
