Douglas Diary Thursday 15th October 2015
Well, sadly this is our last cruising day. We are having breakfast at Great Haywood and I have just returned from walking my bearded one. Soon we will set off to Kings Bromley where I keep my long kennel and where we left my short kennel aka Yeti.
It was only a three and a half hour cruise with just one lock and we arrived at 13:30. They seemed in an awful hurry when we arrived and suddenly I was in my short Kennel and he was driving it not more than 500 yards quite fast I thought. Anyway, we stopped after a minute or so as we had arrived at a garden centre where I know they get a cracking lunch I heard him say but only if they are in by 14:00. This meant I spent an hour in the car. I was quite pleased for the rest actually. They returned from lunch and apparently it was superb. Then we were off again to the railway station and we said good bye to Bob and Sheila. Then it was back to my long kennel and packing up. I have no idea how it is all going to fit in my short kennel there was hardly room to move by the time my long haired one had sorted out all our things from the cupboards into boxes and cases and she was so busy washing, three loads went into the machine! I managed to sleep through most of the hustle and bustle. My bearded one was busy too doing all sorts of things to my long kennel, muttering away as he went about it. Then all of a sudden it was dark and we all sat down in front of the fire and they had a drink. I will write again tomorrow if I can, I expect to be travelling most of the day and so I might miss a day. Love Douglas x
