Douglas Diary Thursday 28th April 2016 Day 9
It has been a pleasant and quiet stay in Nantwich, moored as we were outside the Marina, handy for all its services which helped us re-group and prepare my Long kennel for our next crew. My bearded one replaced our coolie hat (amongst other small maintenance jobs) on our chimney which has been missing for a while. My long haired one was busy making my long kennel all clean and lovely. (I thought you would like to see a picture of me sitting inside today – helping!) Our new crew, my long haired one’s sister Maureen and husband David arrived about midday almost at the same time as did the rain! We had lunch and as there was no sign of the rain abating, Captain bravely decided to proceed on our journey towards Wrenbury our planned destination 8 locks away on the Llangollen Canal. After just a couple of hours battling the elements dressed in our condom suits, gale force winds joined the fray and blew the new coolie hat off the chimney! Our Captain decided it would be a good idea to moor up for the night, light the fire and enjoy a whisky Mac – or two. Love Douglas

Oh Douglas, you are so brave to continue in bad weather. We are, as you know, fine weather boaters, and prefer to lay low until the sun comes out again. xx
