Douglas Diary Thursday May 5th 2016 (Day 16)
We leave this little Welsh town today and it is a really warm beautiful day! Everyone here is very friendly and we have had a lovely time. My bearded one was taken out for dinner last night by my long haired one to celebrate his 539 dog years, they visited an old Corn Mill and left me guarding my long kennel with my Chappie. It has been a lovely stay, we are sorry to leave. The moorings that are provided here (At £6 per day) are very close to downtown and are complete with electricity and water. This means my long haired one, being best in charge of domestics, has been very busy with washing etc. My bearded one has helped and has been attending to the mechanics of my long kennel as he is best at that. As we leave on our return journey over probably the most interesting section of British inland waterway here are some facts read to me by my bearded one off a plaque: World Heritage sight was granted in 2009. Well deserved for the ground breaking engineering by civil engineers Thomas Telford and William Jessop. Built between 1793 and 1808. The canal, with its aqueducts and tunnels, cuttings and embankments through and over the Welsh hills and valleys drops just 50 centimeters in height over this 11 mile length. This marks a significant contribution to the development of transport during the industrial revolution. It is amazing. My picture today, unable to compete with the splendour around us is of me watching television on my long haired one’s lap having a cuddle. Love Douglas

Lovely picture, I thought you were being cuddled by a young child. This holiday has done you all good. Thank you for the interesting facts, maybe we will take Micky Jay along to see this beautiful part of the world. Weather is fantastic here also and we are particularly as your Uncle Mike fell in the canal today, first time, so long overdue. Now he is showered and smells delightful as we sit down for our supper, bye for now, Xx
Please send picture! Do hope he wasn’t damaged in any way. These accidents do happen love Douglas
Love the cuddles!
Llangollen. such a pretty place to visit. Despite my heritage, have not visited the
Eisteddford. However, love North Wales.
Sincerely hope the bearded one enjoyed his birthday; will have to have a repeat performance when you return in June..
