Douglas Diary Tuesday 26th April 2016 Day 7
Bright sunshine this morning but very cold, but at least there is no sign of rain – yet! We are going to leave Middlewich and travel very slowly towards Nantwich not a dozen miles away. This is where we are going to collect our next crew, my long haired one’s sister Maureen and her husband David, they are regular members of my team. This is however not until Thursday morning and today is only Tuesday and so there is no hurry. Yesterday whilst exploring Middlewich my bearded one found a rare hardware shop, an Alladin’s cave he calls it which he re-visited before departure, he says to replenish his maintenance supplies. Job done, we are on our way by mid morning. Today’s picture is of a pretty cottage at the first lock as we passed through and away from Middlewich. (The blue sky did not last.) We were now ascending again on The Shropshire Union but there were only a few locks that I needed to attend to but, being quite far apart I had a lovely long walk with my long haired one. It was beautiful countryside. They stopped for a pic nic lunch but in early afternoon stormy skies were gathering threatening rain and high winds were gusting which altogether persuaded my bearded one that there was no hurry at all. We moored up for the night. He lit a fire and had a siesta. Love Douglas x

Beautiful paw work there, Douglas. More pictures please. x
I find it quite difficult holding a camera between my paws whilst helping my bearded one on the poop deck but I will try. Love Douglas
Brr! Brr! Sure you must be happy with your fur coat. It all though sounds exciting; hope your deck mates have their oilskins to hand.
Back in Spain I’m swimming daily, but not Blanca, she’s no fan of the water.
Enjoying your travels.xx

Very envious of your weather. I don’t like swimming either, I know how Blanca feels. I have been swimming a few times in my life, most of my experiences have not been planned. So far this trip I have managed to avoid accidents. Thank you for contacting me.
