Day 19 Coventry – Nuneaton
I am sitting with my bearded one in a beautiful garden very close to our mooring in Coventry basin. My long haired one has gone provisioning. Nearby. I feel I may have mis judged Coventry on its in-glorious entrance via Canal. Around me are several lovely play areas and I have taken my bearded one for some special and interesting walks this morning. Our mooring last night was very safe and pleasant and I slept very well and I think my owners did too.
We met up with Amber Moon. Now this long kennel was moored next to us in Rugby when I pulled my Houdini trick and got very frightened. It was the nice owners, Bob and Ann who gave me sustenance and comfort when I was confused, not aware of where I had come from. Now they are moored next to us again in Coventry. It was lovely to see them again.
It was unusually hot today, it is forecast to be in the 30’s – I am used to this – just like Spain! After careful deliberation we thought we ought to proceed to Nuneaton to stay on schedule and this might be the coolest option. We think we will return one day to Coventry to explore in more depth. Once out of the mucky bit, (we stopped only once for a plastic bag removal,) I took my long haired one for her walk just before we moored up by an open playground in Nuneaton. Apparently this has been the hottest September day in some places for over 100 years. As we moored, the sky got quite dark the thunder rumbled. My picture today is of me showing my long haired one the new bit of Coventry Cathedral. Love Douglas x
