Day 12 Aynho to Banbury
Not much change in the weather it is still overcast with occasional showers despite yesterday’s picture of our favourite pub The Great Western Arms where we spent last evening. This picture was taken on the way down on day 9 our first visit and the last time we saw the sun. Also alarmingly, the last time anyone received my diary! It appears there is an issue with the server of my site who has gone off phishing or something I cannot begin to understand because I am a dog. I was told to tell you that it will come back but then you will know when that happens as you will be reading this! O dear it is all so complicated you humans! Today we are returning to Banbury which is a very convenient mooring for my long kennel being right in the centre for such things as Bonios for example and general provisioning. Despite the overcast, it is very warm and quite pleasant. We had a most enjoyable cruise. There was a problem at the Aynho Weir Lock as the top gate wouldn’t close properly but the bearded one using special skills with the help of my long kennel managed to complete the transit. Here in Banbury there is also a large park for me to play in and I can take him and her for a game of football and the like. I’m very happy about that – one of my favourite things. The bearded one did a remarkable bit of mooring, it was very busy in Banbury but he got into a 58 ft space and I was impressed, we are 59 ft! My picture today is me having just told the long haired one the correct action for opening a lock gate, some of them are very heavy. We are going to stay in tonight and watch TV as we have a signal. This doesn’t bother me one way or the other because I only see in two colors and I can’t smell anything on it so I find it all a bit difficult to follow.
