Today’s picture is a selfie, ‘ thought you might like it! My bearded one was up at six this morning and he woke me up just so that I could take him for his walk, how mean is that! Although it was a lovely dawn. We have hardly seen a soul since we left Stratford, we have had the river Avon to ourselves and it is truly beautiful but I cannot leave my long kennel very often, only really at Locks. Anyway, we were off early this morning because he was up. We never saw another boat for several hours until we arrived at this lock where there was a man selling amongst other things bow fenders. I needed a replacement one of these for my long kennel and my bearded one negotiated a deal in euros as the only currency that he had, he got a very good rate! So pleased was he that he left his lock handle behind. We continued on our way towards Tewkesbury and at around lunch time we were passing through the village of Wyre Piddle, specifically the local pub’ called The Anchor on the river bank. Well, as my bearded one said, this is a no brainer and they had a very nice lunch, the landlady made a big fuss of me and I made myself at home. I told her I was a golden retriever. I don’t think she believed me. We didn’t make Tewkesbury.

Love the selfie Douglas, your wonderfull wet nose. Very pleased to hear that your journey continues in spite of the weather, soon you will be in Tewkesbury which is such a lovely place. We enjoyed ten days there last year if you remember. Got to know the place very well. We are now moored up in the centre of Gas Street basin, for neighbours we have a couple of Canada Geese, you would like them, with their family of ten little yellow chicks to entertain us. Yesterday we celebrated VE day in the centre of the town with the locals, all very nice and we sang songs and waved flags. I felt bad yesterday as we had a homeless person with his dog nesting right outside of our front door. Mike wouldn’t let me give him warm soup as he said he would want to sleep in our catch. We are going to explore the cultural centre today. Keep taking the selfies, much love, xxx
Great selfie.
How did you manage this when you lack opposable thumbs?
Great Selfie Douglas! Have you got a selfie stick? I don’t suppose so because you’d probably chew it!
Keep up the photography!
