Today is bank holiday Monday and apparently my bearded one’s birthday too and he is one human year short of 11 doggy years old as he tried to explain to me. I think he is very old, rather confused and I don’t think he is any good at sums. We had an uneventful cruise today, I walked a great deal through beautiful countryside and saw lots of baby animals. (See my cygnets – today’s photo). I helped them with the final 15 locks on the last stretch of the Stratford Canal. We left Wooton Wawen after breakfast and arrived on the Avon in Stratford in the early afternoon. It was heaving with people of all sorts enjoying the bank holiday festivities as we arrived, and the sun was shining. There were lots of tents selling stuff and the river Avon was full of humans messing about in little boats and hundreds of pic nics on the go on the green where we moored my long kennel. This last item I logged for later when I might creep out and help in the clear up. By the evening, it started to rain and all the little markets packed up and I was assigned to guard duty again as they all went to see Mr Zizzis for pizzas whatever they might be. As it happens, I was pleased to see them go as I was very tired and I was comfy in my bedroom with the underfloor heating listening to the rain bouncing off my roof.
