As I awoke from a sound and dreamless sleep just as the sun was rising, there was no sun that I could see, it was not raining yet but it looked extremely likely, it was dark cloudy and quite cool. I observed all this from looking out of my personal porthole in my cabin (above the engine) which is cozy and warm. I could hear sleeping noises from the next door cabin, my bearded one and long haired one were soundly sleeping and so I generously elected to lie in.
It was indeed quite late when my walk became more of a necessity than just a pleasure and so I took my bearded one (who was by now up and dressed) around the marina and we met several friends both my kind and human but no squirrels today. The rain forecast that I had made earlier became an accurate reality as we returned to my long kennel and I was happy that we were not cruising today.
Indeed the rain was persistent and they decided that we would take my short kennel into Lichfield to do some provisioning and also, my bearded one wanted to buy some bits for my kennel from a man shop.
He has lit a fire and got his tools out, he is putting up a shelf in their cabin and some clothes hooks in my cabin (as I have no need to hang my coat up, I suspect it will be for their use).
My photo today is a picture of our Marina to give you some idea. Notice our private island right in the centre of the picture, to the right on the near side of the quay, we are the second long kennel along.! There are three empty berths next to us.
