It was a beautiful morning with not a cloud in the sky and it was warm. We all decided last night while at supper in my kennel, that we would have an early start today to make up for our slow one yesterday. I therefore took my bearded one for his walk early this morning and by 09:00 we had breakfasted and were ready to depart.
My photo today is me visiting Micky Jay to tell them we were ready for off, by looking through their window and looking cute and appealing as well, I got a biscuit from my friend Barbie. She loves me and I love her.
The journey to Stone was so beautiful and I walked most of it. There were four locks as we cruised through the village of Stone and we stopped for a coffee break (ugh) before we tackled the next four then we had lunch and I then had a nap for a few hours, I am not as young as I used to be, in fact, I have been doing this all my life and I am now nearly 60 dog years old.
My bearded one and his mate David stood gallantly out on the Poop deck all afternoon, as the weather deteriorated into mild rain as we cruised to our destination aided of course by my long haired one and her sister Mo supplying refreshment, sustenance and a superb lock keeping service.
Now, I just want to raise a point: there seems to be an absence of comment from all my friends. I hope I haven’t upset anyone but I am afraid you have to register to comment and instructions are on the first page. The reason is, my webmaster advisor Noah says this will stop unwanted spam (I like spam and I like sausages). I hope this will not stop you all writing.
We are now safely moored in a park with trees and squirrels at the start of the Caldon Canal which we are entering tomorrow.. my bearded one is drinking a G&T whatever that is.
Dear readers of Douglas’ Diary, I am aware that there is an issue in being able to reply to Douglas’ posts. I am trying to fix this and will report back very soon
Dear all, the issue is now fixed
Hi There – yes we have been unable to leave comments – so if you get this one then keep it up!
That one seemed to work Douglas – but it opens up WordPress Mgt etc. & seems a bit complicated for some doggy readers !
We tried all our tricks on the keypad thingy but it kept saying “Sorry, comments are not allowed for this item……………” We gave up in the end and our captain sent a message to someone who lives in an Ark who seems to have worked miracles…………….
By the way Douglas – we’d like to remind you that as well as Tilly who you know, we have a new friend called Billy (a bit of a leg man) as well as Fergus who look over our shoulder to read your adventures. You may be able to see Billy and Tilly here https://youtu.be/Fpj9gb_SQxo if you paw the right buttons- no, left ones as well and don’t forget Fergus who is big enough to look over any shoulders and who follows your adventures ….. https://youtu.be/X3nvd13jBJ4
Douglas here testing the system xxx
Good testing Douglas. Keep it up !
It works!
Good morning my friend, we do like your lovely portrait today and also yesterdays, you are becoming a Super Model and should sell your services to Doggy Vogue, you could make a killing and keep your Master and Mistress in a style becoming to their status in life! We do know that himself has blue blood in his veins. We are very much enjoying our summer holiday with you and your family, it is all good fun, in spite of the weather which is not coming up to what we would expect in mid August. We have a biscuit ready for you when you care to visit. Much love, kiss, kiss, kiss
Dear Douglas
It’s all very well blaming Uncle Noah and saying you’ve not heard from any of us. My Daddy has written several times (to my dictation) but told to get lost or the equivalent. Anyway, I hope you get this.
I thought it was very funny when you got left behind – it really made me laugh. My mummy and daddy would never do this. Mind you, they don’t take me anywhere in the first place.
Eastbourne has been very busy with noisy buzzing in the sky and thousands of people parking all over the place but it’s nice and quiet this morning so I can catch up on my sleep.
Anyway, glad you’re enkoying your trip so far – keep your bearded one in order, won’t you?
Love & scratches
Millie
