Not a promising start, the rain bouncing off the roof of my long kennel convinced me it was the day for a lie in. I think my owners and M&D were convinced too. No body stirred for quite some time. Eventually, my bearded one crept in to see me and we agreed, as the rain had eased off a bit, that we should give the walk a go. I am so pleased we did as I was bursting and the rain stopped and the sun came out. They had already decided when we returned that a hearty breakfast was a good start for this day, (I got a doggy chew) as there were 24 locks and several miles ahead of us on our descent from Lapworth to a place called Wooton Wawen!. They felt they needed sustenance. This is a very pretty part of Warwickshire having left Birmingham suburbs far behind and I walked pretty well all of it today with my long haired one. The sun shone mostly with only a short recurrence of the rain in bursts. On arrival, we met up with my long haired one’s daughter Fiona and her family for supper at The Navigation. I say we but of course, I was not included, I got to look after the long kennel. I don’t mind this responsibility and anyway, I was exhausted at the end of this mammoth walk. We saw something interesting, a car up a tree, (my photo), I am still wondering how it got there, very strange…..

Hi Douglas we were reminiscing about our time shared with you in the centre of Birmingham and what a beautiful city centre. We too had to escape the bandits in the bad lands! We are carefully following your itinerary for it is only a couple of weeks before we join you. Sheila is looking forward to sharing your walks with the long haired one. All this walking and all this paw food you seem to avoiding you must be looking very trim. I trust the bearded one is looking trim too!
I am also looking forward to seeing you both on board my long kennel, my bearded one will call you once he knows where he is going although the original plan seems to be on schedule. As I write we are in Stratford considering leaving tomorrow 6 th may for tewekesbury and if it dies not rain too much, returning up the river Seven and on up to Wolverhampton Wanderers and you
Love Douglas
Make sure the bearded one does not get fat with all these large breakfasts.
How did a car get up the tree? Flooding?
I have no idea how the car got there, I think it might have been Harry Potter driving.
