It is awfully windy moored here on the River Avon this Tuesday morning and my bearded one is showing no enthusiasm to get moving this is just as well since M&D leave today and there is a necessary provisioning and laundry to be completed. We have decided we will stay for 24 hours or so until the wind has abated. Ahead of us is three or four days of river cruising and lovely as this is there are fewer places for me to get off and walk. Outside my long kennel here there is a huge patch of grass opposite the Shakespeare Theatre where we are moored in Stratford and my bearded one and I play football here quite often. I usually win. I am sorry about the quality of the photo of the cygnets yesterday, today there is a little lamb, I think I am meant to do something with it but I can’t remember what. I took both my carers into town twice today. The laundry didn’t happen but I know where it is and I suspect that is where I will be going in the morning.

Dear Douglas, I have just read your latest report and am so sorry rat the weather is not behaving as you would like. But I remember the green grass that you love to play on in Stratford. Soon you will be on the River Avon, you will wear your lifejack won’t you? Pity about the laundry, buttons not easy to dry in this weather anyway. We are moving on to the Museum tomorrow before the rains come, I feel like Mrs Nah except I don’t have any animals in my Ark. Hope to hear from you tomorrow, safe journey on the River, hug and scratches from Aunt Barbie and Uncle Mike, xxx
Douglas, did you see the Canal boat journey last night on the BBC?
It was 2 hours of front-facing camera with no commentary cruising along the Kennet & Avon !
A TV first! Lila was watching intently with her eyes closed for any dogs passing by … and woke up when she heard one!

Hi Lawson jan and Lila
I presume this means sad news of Raffles. We are in Stratford still waiting for weather and am afraid no TV having a good time
