We arrived safely at Tewkesbury yesterday after a long ride in Friend Andrew’s mobile kennel that is very much like mine except the steering wheel, I think they call it, is on the wrong side. We met up again with Mike and Barbie who had been looking after my long kennel and had washed it for me, it was looking lovely. Barbie had made lunch for my bearded one and his friend Andrew, and I got a welcome biscuit. It was lovely to see her again. Then we left Tewkesbury and headed upstream on the River Avon for a lovely journey to a pretty little town called Pershore. here we stopped overnight and had a lovely supper on board Micky Jay. Strictly speaking, they did, I got chappie and biscuits again!
This morning I took them all for a lovely walk into the town of Pershore and I was even allowed to take them into the local food hall and vegetable market. the smells were gorgeous. I am not usually allowed into such places but there were many of my kind walking their owners too, I was very pleased to note. We then walked to the Abbey which had a lovely lawn in front of it and I regret to say that I was caught a big short here much to my bearded one’s embarrassment. Barbie won, she collected it before my bearded one could get his bag from his pocket. However, he didn’t seem too upset that he had been out manoeuvred.
Back on my long kennel, we left for the town of Evesham. This journey involved several locks and I was able to get off and run about a bit. This river doesn’t have a tow path. We found a mooring very close to a house called The Crown, this seemed to make my bearded one and his friend Andrew and Mike very happy. That is until I walked them there and found it was closed. They decided that we should walk to another house that was called ye olde red horse. This was very nice and they met a Mr Bombadier there and they seemed quite happy, I had a crisp.
