My bearded one was up at six all set to get going as we had a long and busy day ahead. He came into my bedroom and opened my sun roof (hatch) obviously anxious for his walk and to get going to discover it was raining. Neither he or I or any other member of our family moved. Instead they all had a super breakfast of scrambled eggs cooked by the master whilst I slept on with the hatch closed again. I had a busy day yesterday.
By the time they had feasted on a massive breakfast (I had nothing but a doggy chew,) it had stopped raining and there were patches of blue sky, it was 09:00 we un-leashed my long kennel and set off for Birmingham. I had to get up and help my long haired one and Peter with the 21 locks, after miles of walking and eight hours later we arrived in the lovely restored centre of Birmingham and moored in Gas Street – very beautiful, very busy, very tired I went back to sleep.

I’m so sorry for you, Douglas – all that effort and energy. – And not much to eat either as they all stuffed themselves.
I had a tiring day yesterday, too: I had just curled up to sleep for the day on the sofa when the wretched cleaner came in so I had to get up and go and find a bed upstairs. Very tiresome.
Daddy says he is off to play something called ‘golf’ shortly – he gets quite excited and lugs a big heavy bag which rattles out to the car and comes back so tired he has to sit down. Lazy so and so.
Hope you have a better day today –
Love & scratches

Dearest Douglas, how lovely to see your smiling face in the photograph. Did your bearded one take it with his new camera? What a day, did himself not know that there was a very nasty low front coming along to spoil our morning? But then it passed. We too had lots of locks to attend to but our treat was the cake stall at the top lock, so wonderful with our coffee. But I didn’t have a little companion at my side like you. One day!!
You wouldn’t like it here on the canalised in Market Drayton. Mr & Mrs Swan are extending their family across the road and Mr Swan gets very agitated when he sees anything covered in fur. He is not too pleased with humans either, see my FB page. We have had a very busy day today, your Uncle Mike has had his stitches removed, don’t worry, he is fine and mending well. And I, well we, have been busy packaging three pictures to send to Aunty Carol and Uncle David to enter into an exhibition in Glasgow to raise funds for the MacMillan nurses. Keep having fun and walking those towpaths, much love, Aunty Barbie and Uncle Mike, xxxx
P.S. it’s quite cold here in MD and we are so pleased to have such a nice warm home to come back to after our steak and chips at the Wotherspoons in the Hippodrome cinema in MD.
Did you see any Injun Dogs Douglas?
