Well after that rather large lunch that they had yesterday at the Barley Mow, my pets and their rellies did very little in the afternoon except digest their food. I took them for a quick walk later, which they much needed, just before M&D (the rellies) left and so my bearded one and my long haired one and I stayed with my long kennel just where we were for the night, it was a very pleasant mooring.
This cloudy but pleasant morning, I woke the bearded one and took him for his morning walk while my long haired one prepared his breakfast. Mine, incidentally takes very little preparation, the usual hand full of dry biscuits thrown into my bowl.
We slipped our moorings (boatspeak for leaving) and left Newbold after they had eaten their breakfast at 08:30 to continue our journey.
As we passed through Rugby we were hit a glancing blow by a hire boat type long kennel approaching us rather too fast and clearly not in full control by it’s inexperienced crew. No real harm done and can be expected as it is on Bank Holiday Monday after all.
Today we are are on our way to meet up with one of my long haired pet’s daughters, Fiona and grandson Ruben for lunch. We expect to be in Braunston at about the right time as we continue on our clockwise tour of Warwickshire except this bit is in Northamptonshire! The bit we are visiting for lunch is called The Boat House.
It was a lovely lunch and I was allowed to sit under their table. It is possible that we will stay here for the afternoon. This depends largely on the weather and my bearded one’s need for a short siesta. I will report again tomorrow.
My picture today is The Boat House at Braunston.
