We were considering going for a little cruise today, but that was until “the little beast from the east” decided to intervene. I had a bit of a lie in this morning as I was very cozy, enjoying our the warmth of our new stove which stays in all night thanks to the management skills of my bearded one and when he eventually got up I took him out into the cold for his walk and I have to say, it was quite brief. It was actually freezing outside and indeed it started to snow as the nice lady on the television last night said it would.
Back in my long kennel, there was quite a lot of excitement after breakfast as my long haired one excitedly unwrapped her present. She assembled it without a problem, plugged it in and was genuinely pleased with its performance. I don’t really like vacuum cleaners myself, they frighten me a bit but I have to say even I was impressed. My clever bearded one did some DIY and fixed the hook to the wall for her, all by himself, so it can hang nicely.
Now, talking of presents, I have had some feedback on my new bath robe, thank you. One silly remark received was that it didn’t fit me very well! Although that did come from a cat, my friend Millie. She is a very spoilt cat, spends most of her cosseted life on the sofa with her grown-ups. I am quite sure she doesn’t even know what a bath robe is meant to look like or especially what it is like to get wet, or chase squirrels and fetch balls and bark, in fact so many things she can’t do that I can.
My bearded one didn’t seem like needing to go out into the snowy cold windy weather for his afternoon walk and so my long haired one and I went around the Marina to stretch our legs. I found a squeaky toy on this walk. My bearded one was still in his armchair in front of the fire when we got back to my long kennel. He was watching the three big rugby matches back to back in round 5 of the 6 Nations while I tried to destroy the squeaky toy at his feet! Excellent games and a Grand Slam for Ireland. He told me I was extremely annoying and now I can’t find it! My picture today is me in front of the new stove.
Now look here, Douglas: it’s all very well for you to make snide comments about me but I think you should look at yourself in the mirror too. Spoilt? 48 tins of Chappie or Pal or whatever, being allowed to curl up in front of a lovely fire, having a walk whenever you want it . . .
OK, I may not have a bathrobe but I do get wet and I certainly miaow, chase things – and bring them inside for my mummy and daddy to admire, too.
Anyway, that’s enough of that.
It’s cold in Eastbourne too but only a sprinkling of snow.
By the way, I hope you realise your long haired one is having a special birthday soon – have you decided what you are going to give her?
Love (I suppose)
Millie
I only get half a tin a day of Chappie plus some biscuits per day – my long haired one thinks I am getting fat. I think it is because I haven’t been to the beauty parlour yet this year. I am glad I haven’t because it is mighty cold and they will cut my hair. 3 good games he says, sad about England though. X
Dear Douglas, that fire looks very very nice, and i bet you are all pleased to be so cosy and warm. Winter on the boat can be so special when you are warm and cosy, especially with new toys and three games of rugby on the tv. No doubt a nice glass of something as well to go with some good food. Good job you have a copious supply of Chappie
