Today we are heading westwards to re join, eventually, the Trent and Mersey canal that will take us to the Macclesfield canal and our final outbound destination Whaley Bridge on the Peak Forest Canal in a week or so.
We are extremely lucky with the weather as it is August Bank Holiday Monday, this is the day it normally rains in England my bearded one says but the sun is shining and it is just like summer and beautifully warm.
My bearded one and my long haired one did what they call sketching this morning, they seemed quite absorbed in what they were doing …. whatever! I did some dog watching on the grass. They were waiting for their new crew
in the form of our friend Jim who is a regular visitor to our home in Moclinejo. Jim lives over hundred and eighty miles away, near Durham in the north of England and they were expecting him to arrive sometime late this morning but today his journey to us in Consall took over five hours by short kennel. Jim has the same design short kennel as mine it is called a Yeti. The traffic was appalling. He says.
Anyway we were very pleased to see Jim just in time for a late lunch. We then established that his short kennel would be safe in the car park of the Black Lion before we said good bye and had a gentle cruise to Cheddleton Flint Mill, our destination for today, see my photo. This is where my long kennel Albert is moored for the night and Micky Jay is just a few yards away too. I am Dog watching in the long grass again. Micky. Jay left ahead of us earlier today and my friend Barbie was painting a picture of the Mill when we arrived this evening.
Tonight we are going to have a dinner party onboard my kennel apparently but I have already had my Chappie and biscuits so I think I am not included, never mind I am quite sleepy, it has been a long day.
My bearded one seems happy to have his wifi working again whatever that means.
