I love porridge. Do you know my long haired one and the bearded one have porridge for breakfast every day and lately I have been getting a small bowlful for my breakfast too. I think it is great. You must know that since the first day of Spring which astronomically happened apparently a few days ago, on March 1st the weather has been appalling. I know in England that there has been a lot of snow and everything has ground to a halt. I have only ever seen snow once when I was a puppy – didn’t like it much – but here, where I live in Spain it has been, at the same time, raining like you wouldn’t believe. All the locals are rejoicing because it has ended a long drought and we need the water badly. For me it is a real nuisance because I don’t like water that much except to drink and I need to go outside regularly, I think the porridge might have rather exacerbated this delicate necessity.

Anyway, my brave and stalwart bearded one helps me by allowing me to share his umbrella when we go out into the campo. Anyway, all this will be changing in a day or so as we are going to my long kennel! I know this because I have heard them talking and all the packing and stuff that is going on has not gone unnoticed. I know this is going to mean a few days in my short kennel which I enjoy, some overnight stays in strange places, I like this, lots of new smells and a small sea voyage, I meet lots of my kind, and a short stay with my friend Basil who I love, all this over the next week or so  before I get there. I am starting to write my diary now just to let you know what is going on. I will write often if not daily. I think we are away from home for a month. I am attaching a photograph to show you my grown-ups swimming pool overflowing!

Wow Douglas! – but you need the rain!
Our owners’ pool is also flooded apparently.

With all the snow and slush and mud we have to have lots of baths these days – we hate them … but we’ve just managed to run into the garden and bring mud in onto Mum’s clean kitchen mat !
We’ve got a grandad seemingly living with us at the moment and he has brought Nicky hos dog – who is Lila’s brother – so we eat loads, make loads more dirt, hog all the sofas at night and smell more!
    Bliss!
